Report: Mallett partied at rookie symposium

Buried in a Yahoo story from Jason Cole about new Raiders rookie quarterback Terelle Pryor is a blurb citing two sources who indicated that Patriots rookie quarterback Ryan Mallett was out partying at the annual rookie symposium, which is designed to instruct players on the possible problems such behavior can cause.

Of course, such accusations dogged Mallett in college, and then he missed a meeting with the Carolina Panthers and was late to one with the Tennessee Titans. No concrete proof of such things surfaced, but it caused Mallett to fall all the way to the third round, taken by the New England Patriots.

Cole also says that there is the belief among some close to Patriots coach Bill Belichick that Mallett will never play any meaningful snaps in New England.
