Report: Manuel re-signing in Detroit
The Detroit Lions are bringing back veteran safety Marquand Manuel today.
He will sign a one-year contract worth $805,000, according to Nick Cotsonika of the Detroit Free Press. He’s another role player for a secondary that made strides last season, especially with the addition of rookie safety Louis Delmas.
Manuel, who will turn 31 in July, appeared in nine games for Detroit last season. It was his fifth organization in five years, so this will be the first time he returns to a team since playing for the Seattle Seahawks in 2004 and 2005. He had not missed a game in the previous four years, so Manuel has been a durable performer.
