Report: Michael Vick out for Sunday's game

The Philadelphia Eagles have yet to make an official announcement, but Geoff Mosher of the Wilmington News Journal reports that Michael Vick will be sidelined Sunday night when his team faces the New York Giants.

Per Mosher, the club has ruled out Vick, although publicly everyone has said the hope is the quarterback will be able to go a week after suffering two fractured ribs in a home loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Vince Young is expected to start in Vick’s place. He has not started in nearly an entire year since his career fizzled out with the Tennessee Titans. Young was chosen over second-year quarterback Mike Kafka.

The Eagles have their backs to the wall in the NFC East and might have to run the table for a shot at the postseason.
