Report: NFL suspends Falcons OL Ojinnaka for 1 game

Atlanta Falcons guard Quinn Ojinnaka has been suspended for the first game of the season by the NFL for violation of the league’s personal conduct policy.

Fox’s Jay Glazer reported that Ojinnaka will be sidelined for a game stemming from an arrest last spring. Glazer also disclosed that he is involved in training Ojinnaka in mixed martial arts.

Ojinnaka was arrested last year for an altercation with his wife. He allegedly fought with her and spit at her when his wife reacted angrily to a woman that was Ojinnaka’s friend on Facebook, the social networking site. Ojinnaka was charged with simple battery. Ojinnaka claimed his wife tried to stab him with a pen.

The upshot of the whole thing is he gets a game off without pay. Ojinnaka played in nine games last season and made five starts. He’s made 12 starts over the four four seasons and was tendered as a restricted free agent by the Falcons.
