Report: Nike re-signs Michael Vick
Michael Vick’s remarkable return to the NFL has crossed another major hurdle.
CNBC’s Darren Rovell reports that the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback has re-signed a contract with Nike to represent the company. Talk about coming full circle.
“Michael acknowledges his past mistakes,” Nike spokesman Derek Kent told Rovell. “We do not condone those actions, but we support the positive changes he has made to better himself off the field.”
While Nike provided Vick with free equipment when he returned to the NFL in 2009, his contract with the company had been severed in 2007 after his dogfighting crimes came into focus.
Vick has had some smaller deals materialize in the last year but this is by far the largest.
