LeAnne Novacek, the ex-wife of former Dallas Cowboys tight end Jay Novacek, was found dead at her mother’s home on Monday, the Dallas Morning News reported.

Police are investigating what they believe was a suicide as she reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Burleson, Texas police told the newspaper.

Police are awaiting an autopsy.

"It appeared no foul play, so we're waiting for the medical examiner's findings," Burleson police Commander Doug Sandifer said.
