Report: Packers extend WR Jordy Nelson
The Green Bay Packers have continued with their policy of rewarding their own, signing wide receiver Jordy Nelson to a three-year contract extension.
Nelson’s new deal is worth $13.35 million, according to ESPN’s John Clayton, and it was finalized over the weekend. It could reach a maximum value of $15 million if he hits all of the included incentives, and has $5 million in guaranteed money.
Nelson emerged in the second half of last season as one of Aaron Rodgers’ top targets. He has 15 catches for 292 yards (19.3 average) and three touchdowns through four games.
He was due to be an unrestricted free agent after this season. Now he is under contract through 2014.
