The New England Patriots have inquired about what it would take to get into the Seattle Seahawks' spot in the first round of the draft at No. 12, says Albert Breer of NFL.com.

Breer tweets that the inquiry could be just for gathering information or perhaps more. If the "more" part comes true, it would be an odd turn for the Patriots who have made a habit of trading down and for future picks in the draft.

For that reason, New England does have a lot of picks early on to play with and perhaps use for a move up if there is a player they covet. The Patriots have picks Nos. 27 and 31 in the first round, plus Nos. 48 and 62 in round two.
