Report: Raiders aren't interested in QB at fifth pick

The Oakland Raiders were able to stabilize the quarterback position for the short term by trading for Matt Schaub this offseason.

But speculation is still abound as to whether the Raiders will draft a young quarterback with the fifth overall pick, to ensure that there's someone at the position for the foreseeable future.

However, a report from the San Francisco Chroncile states that the Raiders are not interested in drafting a quarterback at the fifth pick — which includes both Johnny Manziel and Blake Bortles.

If the Raiders don't view either as a franchise quarterback in the same mold as Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III then they shouldn't take one that early. There are plenty of other positions in this year's class that are deep that the Raiders need help at — such as offensive line, wide receiver and a pass rusher.

Plus, quarterbacks such as Aaron Murray and Zach Mettenberger should be available in the mid-rounds, which could provide some solid value down the road.
