Report: Rams close to landing Robbins
The St. Louis Rams are putting the final touches on a contract that will bring defensive tackle Fred Robbins on board, a good move for a defense that was terrible at the point of attack last season.
The deal could be completed Sunday, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and the addition of the 32-year-old Robbins would provide the Rams with a versatile tackle as they continue to consider using the first pick in next month’s draft on Nebraska’s Ndamukong Suh and Oklahoma’s Gerald McCoy.
Robbins has been with the Giants for the last six seasons and has missed only two games over the last four seasons.
