Report: Rams shopping Barron

The St. Louis Rams have the top pick in the draft and they’re apparently ready to use the No. 2 draft pick from last year as their left tackle of the future.

The Rams are shopping veteran left tackle Alex Barron with the intention of moving Jason Smith, their top pick from a year ago, into his position, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

It remains to be seen if the Rams will get much action for Barron, who has been inconsistent. He’ll reportedly be tendered at the second-round level as a restricted free agent. Would the Rams accept less for him? Who knows. But it appears like Smith, who played right tackle last season, will be moved into Barron’s spot.
