Report: Ratliff has elbow surgeries

Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Jay Ratliff underwent surgery on both elbows to remove bone spurs on Wednesday, according to Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News.

Ratliff is expected to be cleared and ready for a full return in advance of the opening of the offseason program in March. They’re not considered to be serious issues because Ratliff knew he would need the surgeries before he played in the Pro Bowl less than two weeks ago. Had the elbows been pressing issues, or serious problems, he wouldn’t have played in the game.

According to Archer, outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware has yet to undergo surgery to remove a bone spur from his left foot. He’s still expected to have that procedure and he should also return in time for the offseason program.

Ware also played in the Pro Bowl and the refreshing thing is here we have two players who had minor injuries and did not back out of the all-star game like dozens of others did with injuries that didn’t require surgeries.
