Report: Redskins bracing for torn ACL with Tim Hightower
The Washington Redskins are reportedly bracing for bad news when it comes to running back Tim Hightower, who left Sunday’s loss at Carolina with a knee injury.
Chris Russell of ESPN Radio 980 reports the medical staff “strongly believes” Hightower suffered a torn ACL. An MRI has been scheduled for this morning.
That would be a big blow to Mike Shanahan’s offense that is all of a sudden crumbling with poor quarterback play. Ryan Torain is a veteran in the scheme and could get more action if Hightower is sidelined. But it might be a point for Shanahan to get Nebraska rookie Roy Helu up and running. He’s played sparingly so far but has 132 yards on 26 carries in five games.
