Report: Redskins sign Lorenzo Alexander

The Washington Redskins got busy whittling down their roster on Thursday.

OK. It was more like sawing some parts off. But you get the idea. Bruce Allen and Mike Shanahan were shipping out the parts they no longer wanted.

It has been reported that the team will bring in offensive linemen Chad Clifton and Tony Pashos for visits today, and Alex Marvez of FoxSports.com reports that the Redskins have a signing too. Linebacker Lorenzo Alexander has agreed to a three-year contract, per Marvez, who was a restricted free agent. He’s expected to play outside linebacker in the team’s move to a 3-4 scheme.

Now, if the Redskins can just do something about that pesky offensive line.
