Report: Redskins will sign Vonnie Holliday

Bruce Allen has found a new player for the second coming of the Over the Hill Gang.

The Washington Redskins will sign defensive end Vonnie Holliday today, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Holliday played in 16 games last season in Denver and made three starts while making 33 tackles and five sacks.

The 34-year-old has made previous stops in Miami, Kansas City and Green Bay. The Redskins could be adding Holliday if they have concerns about 37-year-old Phillip Daniels, who had arthroscopic knee surgery less than three weeks ago.

Who knows, maybe the addition of Holliday is the kind of move that can add depth needed to unload Albert Haynesworth. But it seems like Washington has already collected enough tackles to move on without the disgruntled one.
