Report: Saints, Graham millions of dollars apart

The New Orleans Saints and tight end Jimmy Graham are millions of dollars apart in negotiations heading into Monday's franchise tag deadline, according to FOX Sports.

Graham wants to make $12 million per year.

There's a disagreement on whether the Graham should be paid like a tight end or a wide receiver.

If he's tagged as a wide receiver, his agent, Jimmy Sexton, is expected to file a grievance arguing that Graham is primarily used in a wide receiver role.

The difference between the two tags is roughly $4.5 million.

"That's not for me to decide," Graham said recently when asked about the franchise tag. "I'm going to do, and I'm going to play, whatever I'm asked to do. It's that simple."
