Report: Seahawks add long snapper

The Seattle Seahawks signed long snapper Matt Overton on Wednesday, according to Danny O’Neil of the Seattle Times.

Overton played for the Florida Tuskers in the UFL this past season and had a tryout in a rookie minicamp with the Seahawks three years ago.

Overton is in position to take over for Kevin Houser, who snapped for the first 14 games last season before being placed on injured reserve. Houser is not under contract. Seattle signed veteran Jeff Robinson out of virtual retirement to finish out the 2009 season.
