Maybe the Seattle Seahawks have not solved their quarterback competition just yet.

But the field has been reduced from three to two.

Tarvaris Jackson is out of the mix and the club is seeking to trade the veteran, something that might not be real easy considering his 2012 salary of $4 million. It’s that salary that has driven the Seahawks to decide they will not play him this preseason, according to ESPN’s John Clayton.

It makes sense. The Seahawks don’t want something to happen to Jackson and then be on the hook for that salary this season. But, again, it’s that salary that will make it tough to get even a late-round pick for Jackson.

Now, the Seahawks need to decide between Matt Flynn and rookie Russell Wilson.
