Report: Shockey tests out injured knee

The Minnesota Vikings got good news today when it came to one of its players that is questionable on the injury report when it was announced wide receiver Percy Harvin will travel with the team to New Orleans.

The Saints picked up some good news of their own. Tight end Jeremy Shockey participated in the team’s walk-through today, according to Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network. Shockey has been dealing with a knee injury that hobbled him last week in the team’s destruction of Arizona. According to La Canfora, he will test the knee before the game Sunday and expectations are he will be able to play.

The more weapons the Saints have the more difficult it is going to be for the banged-up Vikings secondary to blanket Drew Brees’ targets. Cornerback Antoine Winfield has been hobbled by a foot injury for much of the season and he has not been effective in recent weeks. Winfield is the Vikings’ top cover man.
