Report: Thomas Davis on comeback trail
Thomas Davis is on the road to recovery from a torn ACL and will take a significant step on Monday when he will run on grass for the first time since being injured in early November.
It’s not like Davis is way ahead of schedule, but it’s a meaningful part of the process reports Darin Gantt of the Rock Hill (S.C.) Herald.
“That’s going to be huge,” Davis told Gantt. “Considering the way I’ve spent the last 12 weeks, Monday’s going to be huge.”
Davis’ goal is to participate somewhat in the OTA workouts that will happen in the spring. That might be a little overly optimistic for the linebacker, who needs to focus on being ready for training camp.
“This sounds crazy, but I feel like I can come back faster,” Davis said. “I know it won’t slow me down one bit. When you have this kind of injury, you’re focusing so much on the muscles, making sure everything’s strong so you can come back.”
