After a report over the weekend that Jonathan Vilma might be able to play in the New Orleans Saints opener against the Atlanta Falcons, another report to contradict that has surfaced.

FoxSports reports that Vilma, who underwent surgery on the knee last month, will not only miss the opener, but could be out several more games as well.

"I think it's speculation right now," Saints coach Sean Payton said Monday. "We'll see. I'll have more when we get to commenting on injured players later in the week."
