Report: Waufle named Raiders' defensive line coach
From The Star-Ledger:
While the Giants continue to search for a new defensive line coach, their old one is headed back to a familiar spot.
Mike Waufle has been hired as the Raiders' defensive line coach, ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting.
Waufle had interviewed with the Redskins, though word is he was interested in heading back to the West Coast, where his family is situated. Waufle was the Raiders' line coach from 1998-2003 before joining the Giants. Previously, he had been a line coach for Cal, Oregon State, UCLA and Fresno State.
It's interesting Waufle would choose to head back to Oakland because the Raiders are notorious for being cheap when it comes to paying coaches. Waufle believed he was underpaid while with the Giants, who let him go because of concerns he had become too close with his players and wasn't hard enough on them this past season.
