Reports: Kyle Shanahan to land Browns' offensive coordinator job
The Cleveland Browns are working on a deal to hire former Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan for the same position, a league source confirmed.
According to a source, the deal is "not done yet," as the contract still has to be finalized.
Shanahan is out of the country on vacation and awaiting word from the Browns.
News of the pending deal was first reported by FOX Sports.
Shanahan interviewed with the Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins for offensive coordinator positions.
The Browns have hired former Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains as quarterbacks coach, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Former Ravens offensive line coach Andy Moeller will coach the Browns' offensive line, according to The Baltimore Sun.
Shanahan, 34, excelled with the Texans and initially with the Ravens.
This past season didn't go smoothly as the Redskins went 3-13 and Kyle Shanahan and his father, Mike Shanahan, were fired.
There were several reports about a rift with Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III affecting the coaches' relationship with owner Robert Griffin III.
