Reports say Palmer might not start after all

Reports are now coming out that newly acquired Carson Palmer might not start at quarterback after all on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune reported that backup Kyle Boller took the first-team reps during the open portion of Friday's practice. Friday practices are often a strong indicator of who will play on Sundays.

Also, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com cites two sources telling him that Palmer is not likely to get the start with less than a week to familarize himself with the Raiders offense and personnel and that he feels he is not getting the necessary velocity on his passes yet.

According to the Tribune report, Raiders coach Hue Jackson said he wanted to have his Friday night "Irish coffee" before making his decision.
