Retirement may be option for Hardwick
At age 30, San Diego Chargers center Nick Hardwick is still a very productive player.
As a free agent this off-season, he would probably find a number of suitors, provided the Chargers don't pony up to keep him.
But Hardwick tells the San Diego Union-Tribune that another possibility is in the cards for him as well - retirement.
“We’ll weigh the options, see where we’re at, see how I feel when we’re done,” Hardwick said. “We’ve got time to make decisions and figure it out.”
Already, two Chargers offensive linemen are having major health issues. Guard Kris Dielman may retire due to a concussion that caused a seizure on a flight back from New York, and tackle Marcus McNeill is having problems with his spine.
