Revis calls going to Bucs 'great move on my part'

Darrelle Revis declined to talk about his health and where he is at rehabilitating from a torn ACL suffered last season.

But the newest member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers made it clear he’s happy to have a new home after the blockbuster trade that freed him from the New York Jets on Sunday.

Revis was introduced in Tampa this afternoon and called it a “great move on my part” to come to the Bucs, according to Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune.

“We're going to make a lot of noise, don't worry about that,” Revis said. “The intangibles we have here with this team with players like Josh Freeman, Vincent Jackson and Doug Martin – I could go on and on, down the list. We have some great guys and that was one of the things that we looked at. We have some guys here that can already play and I think that makes this the best fit for me.”

The Bucs open the season Sept. 8 at the Jets and everyone knows Revis wants to be on the field and starting for that game. But he didn’t want to discuss where he is at in the process.

“I'm going to do my best, that's how I work,” Revis said. “I want to bring as much leadership to this team as I can. My goal is to win and there's no better place to win than here. I thank you for the opportunity, so let's go win some games.”
