Rex Grossman's confidence 'at an all-time high'

The Washington Redskins are coming off a brutal home loss to the Minnesota Vikings and Rex Grossman’s future is undecided but the quarterback is undaunted when the subject turns to his future.

The Redskins are almost certain to pursue a quarterback in the draft or free agency. Whether or not Grossman returns remains to be seen. He knows the offensive system and has passed for 2,895 yards and 15 touchdowns in 12 starts. He also has 19 interceptions.

But according to Mike Jones of the Washington Post, Grossman says his confidence is “at an all-time high.”

“I just need to eliminate a couple of bad plays here and there that deter a great performance,” Grossman said. “I’ve done a lot of good things this year. We’ve done a lot of great things this year. Just the consistency level, the percentage of bad plays need to do down. I think you’ve seen that for the most part, as far as production for the last six weeks or so, we’ve been putting up a decent amount of points, moving the ball at a consistent pace.”

Grossman has always been a glass half-full type of guy. He is well liked by his teammates and figures to stick in the NFL somewhere next season. But the Redskins desperately need to identify a quarterback for the future.

“When I go out and play on Sunday, I’m not worried about any of that,” Grossman said. “I go out and try to play for my teammates, coaches and this organization to go out there and win. When I look at my situation, I’m trying to make the best of it at every possible scenario.”
