Rex Ryan, Andre Williams trade barbs in Jets-Giants rivalry

The New York Giants and New York Jets are trading barbs.

First, Giants rookie running back Andre Williams said, "I think the Giants are the real New York team.”

And Jets coach Rex Ryan, whose son Seth plays for a Clemson team that held Williams to 70 rushing yards last year when Boston College lost to the Tigers, replied: “Yeah, last time I saw him he was getting smoked by Clemson,” Ryan said. “I have a funny feeling, he's going to get some [helmets] put on him.”

The Giants, of course, have the bragging rights as recent Super Bowl champions. Is this a rivalry?

“I think there is something to it,” Ryan said. “You don’t get to play each other very often. This game’s always a physical game.”
