RG3 to start this week against Eagles

Robert Griffin III's brief time as a backup has come to an end.

With Colt McCoy injured, and with Griffin playing well against the Giants this past Sunday, Redskins coach Jay Gruden announced that Griffin will start this Saturday against the Eagles.

Griffin had a solid game, going 18-27 for 236 yards and a touchdown, adding five carries for 46 yards. Of course, taking seven sacks wasn't good for Griffin, but Washington has had offensive line issues all season. Griffin also had what looked to be a rushing touchdown overturned and ruled a touchback.

Griffin will have a chance to assert himself as Washington's starting quarterback heading into the offseason with two more games. If it's more of the same from earlier this year, the Redskins could start to evaluate their options at the position.
