Rice plans to skip Ravens off-season work

When the Baltimore Ravens report for off-season work on Monday, running back Ray Rice will not be among them, says NFL.com.

Rice, who has yet to sign his franchise tender, is holding out for a long-term deal and apparently will use his absence from the off-season work as leverage.

The franchise tender is worth $7.7 million, but both Rice and the Ravens have said they would like to work out something long term. The deadline is July 16 for the sides to reach an agreement or Rice will be forced to play for the tender amount.
