Richie Incognito has to undergo evaluation before being allowed to play

Controversial former Miami Dolphins offensive guard Richie Incognito needs clearance from the NFL before he'll be allowed to play, according to NFL Network.

Incognito is a free agent and is allowed to sign a contract, but won't be playing until the NFL and NFL Players Association sign off on him.

Incognito has sought help for mental health issues following the Ted Wells investigative report that alleged he was the chief tormenter of former teammate Jonathan Martinin a bullying scandal that rocked the Dolphins' locker room

Per the report, Icnognito has visited three treatment facilities for mental health and substance-abuse issues over the past several weeks.
