Rob Gronkowski active for Patriots
As if there was any doubt, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. He is expected to start, though he is unlikely to take a full load of reps.
Gronkowski tore his ACL and MCL a year ago and has apparently rehabbed enough to be ready for the season-opener. However, receiver Aaron Dobson and running back James White will be inactive for New England. Dobson had offseason foot surgery that he's still recovering from. Receiver Kenbrell Thompkins figures to get the start in his place.
White appears to be a healthy scratch after being lauded for a solid preseason.
Other Patriots inactives are DE Michael Buchanan, LB Darius Fleming, DT Chris Jones, OG Josh Kline and C Bryan Stork.
For the Dolphins, OLB Phillip Wheeler, C Mike Pouncey, DE Terrence Fede, OT Jason Fox, NT Bruce Gaston, OLB Jordie Tripp and OT Billy Turner.
