Robert Meachem healing well following ankle surgery

Robert Meachem pledges to be ready for the start of training camp, even if camp is on time this summer like he hopes.

The New Orleans Saints wide receiver underwent ankle surgery in February and says he’s recovering well.

“Pretty much every game,” Meachem told the Sporting News when asked how much the injury hampered him in 2010. “But that’s the deal we go through. After the third week, I don’t think anybody in the NFL is healthy. But if training camp starts on time, I’ll be ready.”

It’s just another one of the injuries that plagued the Super Bowl champions last season. That makes the 11 wins they had relatively impressive, all things considered. Meachem had 44 receptions last season, just one less than he had in 2009, but his touchdown receptions dipped from nine to five.
