Roberto Garza, Dwight White honored by Lone Star Conference
Chicago Bears guard Roberto Garza and Dwight White, a member of the famed Pittsburgh Steelers’ Steel Curtain defense, will be inducted into the Lone Star Conference Hall of Fame, according to the Corpus Christi Caller Times.
Garza played at Texas A&K-Kingsville – formerly known as Texas A&I – has been a fixture on the Bears offensive line since 2006. He is a 10-year veteran in the NFL who has played without an ACL in one knee. He won the NCAA Division II national championship in the shot put in 2000 for the Javelinas.
White, who passed away in 2008, starred at East Texas State from 1967 to 1970 and was a member of four Super Bowl championship teams. He was a two-time Pro Bowl performer.
