Rocky McIntosh signs RFA tender with Redskins

Another restricted free agent entered the fold this afternoon as the Washington Redskins announced that linebacker Rocky McIntosh has signed his tender. That leaves cornerback Carlos Rogers as the only RFA on the roster who has yet to sign his tender.

The Redskins tendered the veteran at the second-round level of compensation, meaning he will earn $1.759 million this season. It’s not the longterm security he was seeking, but if he plays well in the defense he will have a chance to cash in. If not, he’ll be able to hit the open market and perhaps hit paydirt elsewhere.

McIntosh missed portions of the early part of the voluntary offseason workout program, including the first minicamp, before showing up and going to work with his teammates in the new 3-4 defensive scheme.

The Redskins made some additional roster moves. They also released offensive lineman Paul Fanaika and kicker Justin Medlock.
