Roddy White apologizes for anti-gay remark on Twitter

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White has apologized for using the word “gay” on his official Twitter account Thursday.

White was asked if he would rather lead the NFL in statistics or win the Super Bowl, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

On his Twitter account @roddywhitetv, he replied “Would u rather be gay or straight come on u know that answer?”

White took a little bit of heat for his choice of words and then later he apologized, writing “OK people I apologize for saying the word gay I know it's a sensitive subject and a athlete of my stature should not use it.”

White’s Twitter account has created news before like when he was critical of commissioner Roger Goodell’s salary.
