Rolando McClain retires from football again

Instead of participating in Phase One of Baltimore's offseason program, linebacker Rolando McClain has decided to retire from football for the second time.

And this time, it seems like it's for good.

According to ESPN, McClain decided it was in his best interest to hang his cleats up instead of follow something he was no longer 100 percent into.

"If football made me complete I would play. But whenever I think of it my heart pulls me away from whatever reason," McClain texted ESPN.

The Baltimore Sun also reported that this is a final decision from McClain, and that he won't pursue another return to football.

A former first-round pick by the Raiders, McClain never lived up to his billing on the football field. He also ran into trouble with the law, which included an arrest in Decatur, Ala. shortly after he signed with the Ravens last offseason.

He retired from the game a year ago but announced he was mounting a comeback on social media earlier this year. But it's turned out to be short-lived.
