Ron Rivera says Cam Newton probably starts Sunday

Cam Newton was forced to miss last week's game after being in an automobile accident that left him with two traverse fractures in his back.

However, after the one week layoff, which saw the Panthers defeat the Buccaneers, Newton appears ready to go for this week's important game against the Browns. Despite being 5-8-1, the Panthers are very much alive for the NFC South title.

Speaking to reporters, Panthers coach Ron Rivera said he "probably" expects Newton to start on Sunday, via the Associated Press.

That's good news for the Panthers, which need all hands on deck to ensure a win against Cleveland. Then again, Cleveland has started to fumble its season away, losing its last three games.
