Rookie QB McElroy says Jets 'selfish'

New York Jets rookie quarterback Greg McElroy spent his first NFL season on injured reserve with a thumb injury.

But he still apparently saw enough in the Jets locker room that he didn't like the culture that was embedded there.

McElroy spoke to a Birmingham radio station and talked of the Jets being "selfish" and having a "corrupt mindset" among other things.

"It's definitely not a fun place to be, I can assure you," McElroy said on 97.3 The Zone via "It's the first time I've ever been around extremely selfish individuals. I think that's maybe the nature of the NFL, but there were people within our locker room that didn't care whether we won or lost as long as they ... had really had good games individually."

McElroy, who figures to be a backup for the Jets next year, said he believes the team can regroup.
