Ross says Dolphins 'better for' dealing Marshall

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross said at the NFL owners meetings that the Dolphins are better off for having discarded receiver Brandon Marshall.

Marshall was traded to the Chicago Bears for a pair of third round picks, one this year and one in 2013. When asked at the owners meetings about the deal, Ross didn't want to elaborate on what he considered to be the past.

“That’s history. We want to go on. We wish him the best. That’s really behind us. It was a trade. He wasn’t cut and we think we got fair value. We think the football team is better for it,” Ross said.

Clearly from those comments, Marshall had worn out his welcome with the Dolphins, as there had been reports that had Miami not found a taker that the Pro Bowl receiver might have been released outright.
