Roy Williams ready to play versus Chiefs
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Roy Williams said he expects to play Sunday in Kansas City despite a painful injury to his ribs.
"They're OK," Williams said of his injured ribs. "They're painful, but they're good. ... I'm looking forward to playing this week."
Williams suffered cartilage damage to three ribs when he was hit by Denver Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams while lunging for a high throw from Tony Romo last Sunday. Williams returned briefly but left the game after making a catch over the middle.
Williams, who watched from the bench as the Cowboys' comeback attempt ended with consecutive incompletions to reserve receiver Sam Hurd, said he had trouble breathing after suffering the injury. That problem has subsided, he said.
"Don't act like I didn't want to be out there," said Williams, who wasn't sure whether he would practice Wednesday. "I would go at Champ [Bailey]."
