Rumors fly regarding Brett Favre

They’re just rumors, but they’re flying up in Mankato, Minn., at the training camp site of the Minnesota Vikings and they involve You-Know-Who.

The rumor is that Brett Favre has informed the team that after undergoing ankle surgery and working out with the high school football team this summer that he is going to retire from the NFL for the third time.

Someone rush Brad Childress to the airport as fast as possible.

Tom Pelissero of ESPN 1500 tweets: “Can't confirm, so take with salt, but there is strong buzz here that Brett Favre has told the Vikings today he's staying retired.”

Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune tweets: “Vikings ownership and other power brokers just held meeting on sidelines here. Looked very intense. Favre related?”

We’ve all come to learn that, yes, you do have to take Favre retirements with some salt, a big grain of it. But until Favre makes an announcement official, there is certainly a chance he could walk away from the game. There is no doubt the Vikings will be worse off without him. Stay tuned.
