Ryan: Jets will be dangerous if they make playoffs
http://twitter/#!/terrymc13For two years running now, the New York Jets have managed to slide into the AFC playoffs as a wild-card and then reach the AFC Championship Game once they were in.
Rex Ryan believes his 7-5 Jets, who almost assuredly will have to go the wild-card route to get in again, can do similar damage in the postseason this year as well.
"It hasn’t always been perfect here,” Ryan told the New York Daily News. “Our first year here, we really struggled to make the playoffs, but we always believed that if we could get in there, we could do some damage. That’s what we plan on doing this year.”
Even though the Jets are one of four 7-5 teams currently tied for the sixth and final playoff bid in the AFC, New York would be on the outside looking in to Cincinnati if the season ended today, thanks to the Bengals' better conference record. The other teams at 7-5 are Tennessee and Oakland.
