Ryan: Keeping McKnight over Woodhead right call
As the New York Jets get ready to take on the New England Patriots, one of the interesting side lights that often gets mentioned in the rivalry is running back Danny Woodhead.
Woodhead spent a brief time with the Jets but was let go and picked up by the Patriots, where he has become a key contributor for New England.
Jets coach Rex Ryan defending his decision made more than a year ago, saying that he kept Joe McKnight instead because of McKnight's tremendous upside.
"Quite honestly there's a reason we kept him instead of Danny Woodhead," Ryan told the New York Daily News. "Danny Woodhead's a great back and done great things in New England, but this guy's ceiling is about as high as it gets."
