Ryan Mallett's season in jeopardy

The Texans turned to strong-armed quarterback Ryan Mallett two weeks ago to see if he could turn around a struggling offense in year one of coach Bill O'Brien's tenure.

After two games, his season might be over. According to NFL.com, Mallett may have sustained a torn pectoral muscle prior to Sunday's 22-13 loss to the Bengals. The report states that Mallett aggravated what was previously described as a strained chest during pre-game warmups. Mallett decided to play through the pain and did not have a great day.

He finished with 189 yards and an interception.

If this is the end of Mallett's season, the Texans will have to turn back to quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who opened the year as Houston's starter.
