Ryan 'not assuming' Revis will be back this Sunday

Even though cornerback Darrelle Revis will have to be cleared by both New York Jets team doctors and an independent physician, Coach Rex Ryan is hopeful he could be ready to return this week, according to the New York Daily News.

But warns against "assuming" that Revis will automatically be ready to go this week against Miami after just one week on the sidelines. Revis suffered what was termed a "mild" concussion in the Jets' season-opening win against Buffalo and sat out Sunday's loss at Pittsburgh.

"I don’t think you can assume that,” Ryan said Monday of Revis' return. “To the NFL standards, he has to pass those tests. Right now, he looks to be doing well, so hopefully he will be playing.”
