Sabres owner exploring bid for Bills

The owner of the Buffalo Sabres is exploring a potential bid to purchase the Bufalo Bills.

Terry and Kim Pegula, the Sabres' owners, retained an investment banker to head up their efforts to possibly buy the NFL franchise, according to the Associated Press.

The Pegula family has considerable financial holdings and could afford to purchase the Bills. They would also pass muster with the NFL approval process.

The Bills are worth $870 million, according to Forbes.

However, the sale could be more expensive than that.

The Bills are expected to remain in Buffalo, especially if they are bought by an owner with local ties like Pegula.
