The New Orleans Saints have reeled in their second pick of the first round as the club has signed running back Mark Ingram, according to numerous reports.

He should add a new dimension to the powerful Saints offense and legitimize a ground attack that went through eight backs last season as the injuries piled up. It’s a four-year contract. Ingram was selected 28th overall as the Saints traded up with the New England Patriots to grab the pick.

The Heisman Trophy winner from Alabama will be paired with Pierre Thomas in the backfield. Ingram was in a minor automobile accident with an 18-wheeler recently – if you can call any collision with a tractor trailer minor. He was not injured.
