Saints re-sign Chris Reis
The New Orleans Saints have re-signed safety Chris Reis.
The special teams standout was a restricted free agent and he’s signed his tender a day before the deadline for other clubs to sign RFA’s to offer sheets.
Reis joined the Saints in 2007 and has appeared in all but four of the 48 regular-season games over the last three seasons, making 46 tackles on special teams, the second-highest figure on the team. He’ll be remembered as the player who recovered the onside kick to begin the second half of Super Bowl XLIV.
Reis had been tendered at the low level giving the Saints the right of first refusal on any contract offer.
