Saints sign S Giordano, release K Carney, RB Wynn
Not only did the New Orleans Saints sign running back Julius Jones, the team also announced that it has added veteran safety Matt Girodano.
To make room for the new additions, the Saints released veteran kicker John Carney and running back DeShawn Wynn.
Jones will help a running back position that has been troubled by injuries and Giordano can provide some depth for special teams. He played most recently in Atlanta and Green Bay.
The 46-year-old Carney kicked for the Saints the last two weeks and made 5-of-6 field goals but missed a chip shot 29-yarder in Sunday's loss at Arizona that turned the momentum of the game. Apparently, New Orleans is ready to try Garrett Hartley again. Of course, Hartley cost the team a game against the Falcons earlier this season.
The Saints also announced that cornerback Reggie Jones has been re-signed to the practice squad. Linebacker Harry Coleman was released to make room.
